I get around 13mpg, Boston Traffic, 305's and yakima bars sticking up in the wind. I use the most cost effective fuel I can find. I Ih8mud sitcker along with the NRA stricker got me maybe a 1/2 mpg :)
I picked up the Yakima bars and brackets that clamp to the factory rails. I think the most I've hauled on it was 8-16ft pressure treated 2x12 joists. I didn't drive very far or fast with that load. I do tie my canone down front and back to the bumpers to help take some of the wind up lift off...
If you're not in the habit of using your E brake you might start. I ordinarily don't use it and everything rusted soild. I had to sawall parts off, basically spent close to $400.00 on replacement parts to get everything back together again. I live in the rust belt, and would occasionally spray...
Depending on the miles and the corrosion you might want to order new shims, pins and little springs that keep the pins in. I'm at 115K and the road salt in Boston had done a number on those items. I got those from the local dealer, and ordered slotted rotors for front and rear from Man-a-fre. I...
I've had good luck salvaging tires with sidewall holes by sticking in a big truck tire patch and then putting in a radial tire tube. The tubes usually had to be ordered. I had a new BFG ATR that took a .22 round in the sidewall. I put 40K miles on it after that.
Tubes used to be standard...
I've got a set in the basement new in the box, I visited Spector, for the first time a couple of years ago and had to buy something. I had them shipped to Boston and Have never installed them. They are the Bushwackers make me an offer.
You can cut out the centers on the old filters and glue the filter fabric in. Its the stuff that's blue one side white the other side. Little contact adhesive works well.
I didn't have a camera with me to take shots of the Honda. Nothing to show on my Land Cruiser, little smudge of red paint on the center horizontal bar. Traffic coming into Boston in the morning is semi controlled insanity. Too many cars going to fast with no room for error. Add senior...
The ABS brakes worked great unfortunately I needed an extra 3ft of stopping distance and there was a Honda Civic in those three feet.
The ARB bumper has a little Honda Red on the top center cross bar and there is a hair line crack in one of the rubber pads. The Honda is going to need some time...
Christo's wolf boxes are fantastic also, just a bit smaller. I drive a big car, and like big storage boxes. I have one of those hitch haul platforms to put the 200qt igloo cooler on. One of these days the jeep trailer will be licensed, and I can really go crazy.
I found some aluminum military medical supply boxes at a Army Surplus dealer in PA. I lost the link sorry. The boxes are 12" high 20" wide and 40" long. Water proof gaskets and stackable. They hold mass quanties. But they were $40 ea.
