So as embarrassing as it is there might be a possibility that I had the return line and pressure line mixed up. I will send pictures soon to determine.
I use 18W spot/flood LED IP 67 rated lights from Amoron as my back up lights. I just got out some new ones last year that can flash and or turn yellow by turning them on/off quickly with the switch, IP 68 60W - they are NLA now were like $10
My 1st 40, 350, sm420, 4:88's and 36's ran about 60mph at 2800 rpms. I could go faster at around 3k or whatever more, but driving on the highway over time It would end up around 2800 rpm. It was just comfortable crusing rpm.
My 2nd 40 has...
I also need to double check that it’s not leaking at the pump. In the video it was hard to tell because I didn’t have good footage of where the fitting goes into the pump. However you could see it pouring out where it was crimped to the soft...
Or if you have one made that works, get whom ever does it to make a backup. I have had brake lines made here in Rome for my 40 and it was super cheap. But they have to have the right fittings on hand obviously. (I feel like I got lucky as Sisson...
A custom hose would most likely be cheaper, or look in to swapping out the fitting on the back of the pump to a o ring type. It would be nice to buy a hose off the shelf for future replacements.
So an oring at the box and a flare at the pump for @cims1970fj40
There have often been some malfųckery in the boxes over the years and it is sometimes a crapshoot what you get in a reman. Once I ended up with the right box but with only 3...
I just looked that # up on r/a cardone 27-6529. That box takes a seal type h/p hose. Its not an inverted flare box. I think later model cj's went to seal type boxes, but i dont know when.
Edit: 27-6529 is for a 1976 Jeep J20
and appears to...
Interesting.
That is a J20 box - supposedly. That is what I have run with that jeep hose I listed. May be a dumb question - are you sure you are sticking the hose in the pressure and not the return?
My Saginaw box is mounted out front, I REALLY like the way your steering gear box is mounted in the engine compartment. Had I more youthful motivation and energy, I would do something along this line. On the other hand, @Jdc1 absolutely...
So I bought that part today only to find out that the fitting on the box side is bigger in diameter. On the pump side of it it’s fine. Back to the drawing board.
Preference would be rust-free or close to it in red (i think this is Seminole Red in 1970?). I have the rear lift gate already but dont mind purchasing complete. Looking for everything else: sides, fiberglass top, rear hatch crossbar support...
