I have a Hj45 with a snorkle. My transfere breather has been extended into the engine bay, but my understanding is the gearbox breaths through the shifter, so what happens with deep wading? Does water get into the gearbox and if so is there a solution?

I thought the hj45 breathed through the top of the gear box were the shifter atatches. I have extended the transfere breather, but what can I do about the gear box if that is its breather?
