Just removed from my 2004 LX470. 265K miles. No cracks or leaks, just replaced it preventatively. Top spout is a little thinned out at the edges.

The guy on Marketplace claims the steel set weighs 105 lbs. Maybe the aluminum is 83, which sounds about right...

They definitely look thicker than OEM (2.5mm on steel) and they have a 4mm aluminum version as well.

Yes, and it has been driving me crazy. Can't figure out a pattern either - sometimes connects, sometimes not. I am in contact with T'eyes tech support so we'll see where that goes...
