thats the thing. i already picked up a set of 35s and im preping my SOA and i want to do a selectable locker in front. i dont have too much experience with toyota axles, ive only oned one other toyota and it was a 79 sr5 4x4. do these HD birfields have a guarantee?

yeah i think they built around the dana 44 set up. i hear alot about breaking birfields so why not just get rid of them altogether and it would seem replacing u-joints would be easier then birfields. just wonderin

the thing is we both have the same problem. it worked fine before the carb was taken off to be rebuilt so its for sure that something is wrong.

ive used everything BUT the auto trans treatment but ive heard from some people it helps with leaks and didnt make it any worse my fj has 215k and i just used it in my 4speed. had a small effect, i can really notice it when its cold. shifts alot easier

i have the same exact problem but i didnt check to see if the petal moves when the truck is shut off. i rebuilt my carb and after it would idle higher at around 1k. i pull the petal back and it goes back down but everytime you hit the linkage it goes back to a high idle. i havent tried to fix...

some pics from my first trip with it to lake pillsbury 2 weeks ago. wheeled great even stock. hit my back end a hand full of times and high centered once but nothing ramming speed didnt fix :D
