its in the back of the engine block, behind the rear main cover, from factory they are plastic with an oring, lots of good stainless and titanium ones, it effectively acts a oil galley plug to divert to the oil filter, IF you don have one or if it starts to pass it means oil goes through with...

if you are wheeling, 100% i would if you can! Ive ripped 2 or 3 of those bad boys off while wheeling hahahahaha, that said reducing the amount of piping will change the amount of refridgerant you have and may or may not need to be efficient

all this power has not been kind to my front pinion..... 2nd pinion feels loose already and its a 4.11 ..... time for a major change on the front axle
