Apex designs bolt on spindle gusset thoughts

I'm sure there are others, but Total Chaos UCAs use a nylock nut to secure the UBJ...I have never personally had one loosen up and I have never read about it happening either. I'll definitely agree that a castle nut and cotter pin is #1 for security, but that isn't saying that the use of a...

Builds Qball’s GX 460 build thread

Looks good and I'm not trying to steal your thunder, but saying it is the first 460 on Kings is a stretch. There are lots of guys with 460s running Kings w/ reservoirs. Also, there are already kdss bracket kits from King for the front reservoirs. Just curious, but who did the custom valving...

I was prepared to either re-shape the snorkel head w/ a heat gun or trim the Prinsu rack. Luckily, I didn't have to do either!

Finally got around to installing the faux-TJM snorkel to celebrate turning 10k on the odometer. I'm not going to lie...my hands were shaking while I was drilling that first hole in the fender. There are absolutely zero noise or vibrations on the the interstate and it clears the Prinsu with a...

    Best Tires for GX 460

265/65r18 definitely fits, but I know someone on GXOR had a 275/65r18 crammed under there. It definitely requires some finagling when you're raising the tire.

    Best Tires for GX 460

Yes, no problem. I ran those on my stocker w/ no rubbing. You may have to remove one small bolt in the wheel well (not sure if Prados have similar attachment points as the Lexus).

That's what I was seeing as well. 17 and 18 tire prices are edging closer and closer for quality brands. Hell, I used to pay over $400/ea for tires on my Jeep SRT...just part of life if you don't want cheap, China rubber. I agree that 17s make sense, but I absolutely loved these wheels and...

Fair points, but I personally feel the "price of tires" thing is overblown. Let's be real...any 32-33" quality tire in a 17 or 18" wheel size is $300ish give or take $25 or so, even cheaper if you wait for sales/rebates and do price matching. Over the life of a vehicle, that isn't a whole lot...

Just trimmed factory steps. I just kind of eyeballed it...nothing careful about it, lol.

Added some Enkei RPT1 wheels. Was going to step down to 17s, but my BFGs only had 5k miles on them. I got an absolutely killer deal on these, so it made sense.

They will be listed for sale. I'll probably be swapping them in the next few weeks.

No issues yet...it is only 18% in the front, 35% over factory in the back and 55% on the windshield. I usually run this combo on all my vehicles, so am very used to it. The ditch lights definitely do help out the sides, but it is no big deal to roll down a window either. However, I don't...

I've had an ARB on another rig and IMHO, the Ironman is comparable in quality. I only paid $1250 for the Ironman, so couldn't justify the extra $1000 for the ARB. The ARB does fit a bit tighter to the grille, but I'm happy with the Ironman fitment. I do like the 2 piece winch cradle as well for...

why are there no 2-way adjustable shocks for the GX460

I really wish Dobinson's would include vehicle-specific brackets with their reservoirs. Right now it seems like everyone has to ghetto-rig the mounting locations. I'm personally waiting for the Toytec/Elka Aluma kit to be released that has mounting brackets which work w/ KDSS.

Nothing super exciting, but I finally got a power disconnect installed inline for the winch. I just didn't want someone to be able to walk up to my vehicle and hook a remote (or clips) to my winch control box and tamper with it. Based on the specs, it should be fine for steady winch runs up to...
