If you have so much mass in the back that different springs are necessary, the stock dampers won’t be able to control that mass either. Not saying you need to go to kings or an advanced suspension, but something like some base bilstein or OME...
It should stay in auto. Probably need to check whether your recirc door operates as intended.

Your transfer case specifies a straight 75w and 200-series started doing so at the same time the TC part number was changed, with the parts diagrams suggesting some internal differences.
GL5 fluids are known to attack yellow metals commonly...
Now I’m curious exactly who you called, and whether maybe they were looking at the M/S 2. I contacted them via the number on their site and that customer service rep said the M/S (non-2) is discontinued.
Sometimes the flooding isn’t from the pump. I’ve had the stock tank and system boil at altitude in Colorado multiple times.
My point is over 220(me) or 235k miles there is not only a statistically increasing chance of “events”, but simple wear...
With regard to preemptively changing the charcoal canister, isn’t one of the concerns that the extra fuel volume and especially surface area could overwhelm an otherwise barely-hanging-on CC?
I have to admit that would be on my mind with 200k+...
People ignoring TPMS warnings is another issue altogether.
Forgot to list that part of the procedure.
If you reset your TPMS warnings at the road pressure, then inflate the spare above that, the spare warning pressure won’t be higher than...
To take that further, people can try inflating the spare to the max pressure for that tire. It's super-easy to run it down to road pressure if you need to install it.
This buys more time before the spare pressure gets below a usable level from...
That’s good info. Implication being it may be outside Discount Tire’s normal inventory system but they may be able to get it.
Their sales guy said the road hazard includes replacing it with basically any similar tire of the same size. So MS2...
I tore a 1" hole in the middle of the tread of a 285/60R18 Defender LTX M/S in colorado recently (wasn't properly aired down) but wasnt too worried as I had roadhazard coverage through Discount Tire. Turns out that model/size has been...
Most likely uneven brake pad deposits on the rotors.. commonly called “warped” but that is a misnomer. Somewhat common problem for 200s, depending on how the brakes are treated.
It is possible for it to get bad enough to notice wobbling even...
Have the stock ones not been reliable enough?
Other than corrosion most people don’t seem to have problems with them as long as they are torqued correctly.
You need to pull the door sill trim and inspect for water pooling. Most likely the connectors there by the footwell will have corrosion. Dry the area soon and inspect and address the corrosion.
I stick the pin onto the end of a magnetic pickup tool, not in-line.. sortof like an upside down L.
Did you remove all of the splash shields from the bottom including the center spine thing down the middle?
I just checked with a friend that used the cerokote kit on two cars about a year and a half ago and both of his are still crystal clear.
Yeah, not the kit I used. I had the more generic one with the orange foam polisher. Will keep this in mind.
I've been out of the pricing game for a long time but the undercarriage of that example looks better than average, even for a texas vehicle. They probably didn't even take it skiing or to the beach.
Congrats on the find!
That is the correct number, though it will get superceded to another in Toyota's system.
Is it sticking due to corrosion? Using a torque wrench to spec?
I've done almost 25 oil changes on mine without issue. Makes me wonder if it's an...
To be fair, unless you specify the new design they technically did what the customer asked, with factory parts.
It would be different if Toyota had ever formally acknowledged this issue, but they haven’t. They just quietly changed the design.
