Thanks for reply’s on the 3rd row. Really don’t want a sienna. We live way out in the sticks on rough roads. Not to mention the ice in snow in winter. Anyone know how the 3rd row in a 2008+ sequoia compares?
To those who have had both, How does the 3rd row compare between the two series? My kids are out growing the 3rd row in the 06. Not enough leg room with seats mounted flat to floor.
I would check all the u joints of both driveshafts. Chock the wheels and put transmission in neutral then shake each joint up and down watching for play in the bearings of the joint.
I think it’s too tight. Only needs to be tight enough to remove axiel play. Mine ended up 3-5 ft lbs. I have driven thousands of miles since and have several times jacked it up and checked for play. Always zero play.
12-15 is not that much. Not likely to hit the right pull on the old fish scale with used bearings. A lot of people are going double or triple that to get the right scale reading.
Anecdotal assumptions on why something fails is not helpful. Too many people reuse the c clips. Hence the high failure rate of them popping off. Floppy loose is bad, but too tight is worse. Follow the manufacture of the bearings specs. Or follow Toyota’s methods, but that requires using...
