    Starter Problems when hot outside

    Found the problem. Two of the magnets were in pieces, and one of the bearings was starting to lock up. not bad for 285k Bought one from Napa, and kept this one to rebuild. Bench

    I installed the relay between the wires going to the starter . I hooked them to the relay, and new wires from relay to starter, I replaced the contacts in the starter, but didn't look at the armature. All grounds are clean, and no corrosion in the wires.
