    BJ42 Resto

Haven't really done much over the last month or so. Test fitted the rear top sections, needed a little bit of die grinding here and there otherwise it came out ok.

    BJ42 Resto

Will grab a few this evening when i head back to the shed, i always thought the 42's all came out with 5 speed? I'm considering making a fibreglass mould of this plate since so many people PM'ed me about it.

    Builds Intro: Ugly Betty(so far)

Love your build up, i hope mine ends up somewhere as good as yours! Was your BJ42 originally green? i've been stripping mine lately and found it to be a darker green than the "olive grey"

    BJ42 Resto

I finally went out and bought some argon gas, this makes a world of difference welding. I was previously using the gasless wire and people kept telling me i couldn't weld which is partially true since it's all new to me however i think my welds in the latest patching efforts are 100 times...

    Gary's Ossewa - an Aussie '84 BJ42 LX

I think when i manage to find a set, i'll make a fiberglass mold and make a few. Planning on throwing a rear drawers in the back of my LX then making the arm rest hole flush on the copy. PS. love your BJ42! I have to admit i'm slightly envious how tidy yours is :P

    BJ42 Resto

Apparently i can't put body filler over existing paint so it was back out with the grinder yesterday. While it was back to bare steel, i cut and welded the panels a little straighter then started again with the filling. :bang: Not to sure how straight these things were from factory...

    BJ42 Resto

This will need to be pried out of my cold dead hands first, it took 3 years of nagging a poor old guy to sell it to me. Probably should of wrote on the post above, it's a 1984 BJ42 LX with aircon, power steering and 5 speed gearbox. Once the panel work is done i'll look at swapping to the 1hz...

    Unknown Transfercase Rear Extension Housing

had a quick look in there earlier today, it takes fine spline, then inside is a loose larger spline with less splines, then back out to the tailshaft as fine spine, all shafts are different lenghts to the broken one so i cant really adapt it to fit. was hoping to avoid pulling apart the...
