Did you check the wire harness behind the dash. Mine (‘75) socket opening was empty as well, but someone has just removed the two screws and the socket was dangling back in the wire harness mess behind the radio area. Worth a check if you haven’t, the wire is already connected to constant power...

Yes, I painted mine a few years before they started using it for TRD pro color, back when it was just called Toyota Dark Green 6V7.

Last month. They had just got the yellow 40 series in that had been around the world.

Nice ‘94, congrats! Even got the cloth seats like I have in my ‘94!! Having had the leather seats in my ‘95, those cloth manual seats are a big upgrade, especially with new OEM foam!

No cardboard pattern, just eyeballed it with it in the truck and used a box cutter to cut where needed to fit around pillars and seat brackets.

Great backstory! Im sure this will be a very rewarding project for you. But we are going to need way more photos of your 40 inside the engine bay, interior and the exterior! We love photos of 40’s around here 😁.
