Overland Cruisers of Bozeman MT has developed a kit to fit the Toyota 4.7 V8 and a H55 transmission in a FJ40. This kit gives your FJ40 Toyota V8 performance.
Our local brewery ( they also make ciders and meads ) is about a 2.25 mile drive by the Pig odometer. They had a sorta car show, of course I attended. They let us park on the lawn, which meant that we could walk around with pint glasses in hand...
The two rust repairs are now the two straightest parts of my rocker panel!😛
I color sanded and feathered the two blocks of paint, but left the transition at the back of the door jamb obvious on purpose. Good enough for a trail rig.
Bolt on patina.😉
Used a kit from
Straight Electric Power Steering Kit - ePowerSteering - https://epowersteering.com/purchase/product/straight-kit/?v=84de8e2b14bb
and some leftover parts to build a ‘71 EPS system. Not pretty yet but fits.
The previous owner installed an old clunker of a starter from CarQuest when the original died, it’s slowly been getting worse so I decided to upgrade to a Toyota reman GR starter. All is can say is wow. If you haven’t done this mod do yourself a...
I haven’t driven the 40 in a while. My CO ordered me to take us to our daughters volleyball game it on Thursday.
The seniors at the high school get the primo parking spaces and can paint them. The second photo is my sons spot.
FYI, y'all, this isn't for my 40.
I'm helping a buddy and his son rebuild an engine. (As if I'm any kind of technical resource) I have a PhD in toilet mint exchange at local breweries, in my spare time I'm a carney man with the traveling circus.
Yah I know i order almost exclusively from the UAE or japan but they where showing no stock on most of the parts and wanted to see what my local guys could come up with, I’m lucky the parts manager is old and been doing this 35 years and loves...
I almost hate dealing with my local Toyota dealership, if I don't show up with part numbers they actually like they can't find anything over 20 years old.
Maybe I should give them a hard time.
I emailed a parts list to my local dealer and he could still get all the parts except main bearings in all sizes are discontinued. My invoice picture has two different size pistons and rings. Rod bearings are available in .25mm undersized. These...
I took the transmission down. I forgot/didn’t understood change the input axle seal when everything was open. 🤦🏻♂️ That chinese cheap motocross bike lift was a big help. So tight to get off, maybe easier with the bellhousing? 3B and H41 here.
Installed an FJ60 steering wheel in Lilred while we decide how to attack restoring our original steering wheel. Thank you @knuckle47 for the steering wheel. Fits and works great.
My 13 year old a few days ago:
First time. 60 Series, low range, putzing around an empty parking lot. When my 40 is ready I’ll have my kids give that a go too.
Started on my front axle rebuild. I was a little weary of this job, but tear down went very smoothly and quicker than I expected. I knew the knuckles were loose and leaky, but when I got into it I found some PO had not used the lock washers on...
This was a one owner truck I purchased here in Bogotá. I have all the original documents from its importation from Japan. 🇯🇵 Additionally I have a full folder of service records, owners manual, tools etc. Original set of keys were also provided.
Added another to the herd. This was a customers truck, we did many projects for him including a fresh hub to hub disc brake axle w/powder-coated parts, 3FE (a local shop installed) in front of an new H55F/split-case (with park-brake) we built...
