I experienced the same issue on my 40. Dave Gore responded to my email and this was his solution. It worked well for mine but also hadn’t had them on for a long period of time.

Still have a bunch of transfer case output cones, and late wiper motor covers. I gave away a bunch of diff covers to a friend for obstacles for R/C cars.
