Trip report:
We had four vehicles for camping Friday night (@brices123, @Highway Romping, @Cactuscrzr, @GeoRoss & Lisa too). There were a lot of people in camp and we did not get very much sleep.
On Saturday morning we headed out of camp about...
At the camping spot. The road is marked 9012R.
You go all the way in and then all the way to the right (west). Look for the CSC banner.
See you all soon.
Updated the list of attendees. As of now we have ten drivers. I am willing to ride with someone to free up a space for another driver. Just let me know.
I revised the first post for the camping spot and attached some maps.
The spot is the Edge of the World GPS 34° 58' 48.04" N, 111° 49' 41.38" W.
Looks like it might rain on Friday. Casner might be a little adventurous this year!
So, I am trying to get up to the campsite (not yet determined as of 9/9/25) on Thursday night, or maybe Friday morning.
As for getting to the camping site, I will post maps later this week. Either camping site will be off of FR231. FR 231 starts...
So, the camping spot from 2018 (or ?) is closed for camping. See photo.
So, I am thinking either:
Edge of the World
or
34.97488° N, 111.83012° W (my records show this was the 2022 camping spot.) It is at the east end of FR539. BUT, I was not...
There is a run on September 20th, but you will have to join a waiting list.

There is a run in the Flagstaff area on October 4th...
Not going to make it. Bummer.
Anyone want to go out 231 with me Sunday morning? I know it isn’t exciting, but i need to find a camping sport for the 19-21.
Is the run power wagon friendly? She’s definitely full sized, still smaller than the f250 but this is what I’ll be driving. I don’t mind wheeling it but I’m not ready to scratch it up.
Also planning on camping.
While the satin black paint will be here tomorrow, I still needed to get something on the bare metal to protect it from rust. Seeing that I needed to apply primer anyway, I went ahead and broke it down and sprayed three cans of self etching...
I spoke with Michael Gordon from the Forest Service over the weekend and he said he spoke with his Flagstaff based counterpart. Michael told me there are many areas on top of the rim, off of FR231 that are being fenced off. He did not know...
