Well it took longer than planned but the tank is out. I did have to cut the fuel pump tube. There was just no way to get the nuts to move. I used a drimel to cut the 19mm nut on the tube side of the joint and had to use a nut splitter to actually...
How much $$ and how long to ship?
I have one last chance to open the joint with some new proper flare wrenches, then I have to decide how much it's going to cost to make the cut.
The wife may start thinking about where/what to cut if I don't quit...
Reviving this tread to see if anyone has found an alternative FUEL Pump Tube (23091-61010).
I am currently trying to disconnect this tube as the last step prior to dropping the tank.
My DD 'Cruiser has been down for 2wks trying to remove the tank...
We bought the trunk when I was working in KY. Previous owner had it for 11 mnths before we picked it up. It was in Tenn for only 1 yr before we moved back to TX. No rust in this truck.
(And I did check the connectors in the driver rear panel.)
Never! It's been running just fine for the past 35yrs. But all good things must come to an end. The same is with my fuel pump I guess.
I had the FP and B+ contacts jumpered when testing. That is when I could hear "something" in the fuel tank...
Have a no start '89 FJ62 with about 364k miles on it. It's my daily driver.
Drove home Monday evening 45mi with no issues. Stopped along the way to fill up and it started up just fine.
Went out Tuesday morning to strong cracking but no start...
