I believe the switch from R-12 to R-134a began in the late 1980s early 1990s.
Look for R-12 to R-134a adapter fittings "45° to O-ring" and then you could replace all the hoses with newer barrier hose and fittings but unless you're updating your...
New FJ40 owner here. Been lurking on Mud for a while before buying this 1975 (2/75) FJ40 last fall in NE Texas. It's a survivor that has been in the same family for 35+ years and luckily has been stored inside all of that time. It's very solid...
Thanks. I have two crusty ones that I considered using to make one good one, but was worried about how well it would fit after I welded the pieces together. I heard back from CCOT and they said they would be making a new batch in the next few...
You can stud weld and pull them with a slide hammer and get them somewhat straight or you can keep the patina. Sadly, it doesn't look like you will get to do both. I assume they are all rusting from the inside out. Personally, I'd leave it and...
Hopefully you have chased down your email addy from the forum and edited those posts....
And honestly, I'd block your email from these screenshots too....
Just looking to see if anyone needs some of these. In the past, when the 55 rockers were rusted, I had a method to repair them. I would cut access holes in the rocker, sandblast them and then seal with a POR15 type product. My feeling is, with...

Well, after washing it up and getting a better look at them. They are toast.
I'm gonna try and fab in a round pipe for the radius, then mold the upper rocker material to it.
I have plans of coating the patina on the roof. I also have a search out for the proper Nebula Green driver door. Shown is a later year that the po had put on. It's a rescue, I love the way it looks now except the door and the new dents. Ha
If they were rusted I would cut them out. Their not dented to bad, I will get something figured out to keep the original paint intact.
Thanks for the links.
That was the before picture. :( Passengers where dented, now drivers are dented.
I tried the glue and slide hammer on the rear quarters with no luck. Too thick of metal.
