Non intercooled first gen ve pump motors.Were these intercooled 1st gen ve pump motors? The non intercooled had problems with cracking like that...
I see all the new heads are 7mm like you were just talking about. I had no idea that's why they were cracking. So the 7mm head will work on my motor I take it? Just need new injectors and possibly new lines?The difference being the size of the injectors. The earlier motors had 9mm injector nozzles, which made the casting between the intake/exhaust valve openings thinner, which propogated cracking. Cummins moved to 7mm nozzles on their injectors later on to combat this.
What is the thickness of the injector nozzle?
