Those jeeps can go through anything!

I kinda wanna get it

If I can turn the motor over at the crank, I bet it will run. At the worst I could sell it as a "running fj40" and get more $.

Im trying to get steffy to buy it and throw a 22re/a340f/duals in it and he might be able to tow it with the 4runner.

That thing is worth way more than $500.

if you flip the bezel right side up.

I got a 2F and 4 speed for whoever takes on the project.

I can't afford to keep the pig running let alone my other two Cruisers. Don't make me buy it.

Besides I just spent $600 on a 93 Mercury Crapi.

actually Im thinking more along the lines of a 3rz set up. Tried calling the guy but no answer. but for a quick bolt in up grade that 2f does sound very appealing

Atleast I would think the 2f and 4speed would be virtually bolt in. Im noob stupid when it comes to fj40s from the 60s. At first I didnt realize it would have the 3 on the tree.

going to look at it tonight. Bringing a battery just to see if it will turn over. Its sat for a long time so Im sure the carb is all gummed up. Ill post pics later

So, Steffy?

Did ya buy it?

Where are those pics?

Im on the fence about it. I have no experience with body work, so I have no clue what I would be getting myself into and Im definitely on a budget. Im having my fj40 "expert" coming over after work today to take a gander at it for a second opinion. 4rnr will be here about 4:30 so, I wont have any further updates til then.

From the pics....I say you can't go wrong for $500.00

Wheel it...don't fix it

I hope you did not try to turn it over...you could actually do more harm than good...

If the frame and title are good, and have a place to keep it, everything else can be changed or fixed with a little money at a time, and lots of elbow grease. If you have someone with parts, then you are already on your way

did not try to turn it over last night. I thought I would give it a shot tonight. I wasnt going to run it. Just interested in seeing if it would turn over and could possibly run. Why dont you recommend trying to start it?

Cause it may siezed, or there may something in the cylinders. With the torque a starter puts out your likely to break or bend something.

Be sure to bring your breaker bar tonight. We will turn it at the crank to see if it rolls over easily....(hopefully, not too easily) Honestly there is no reason to even see if it will start. Its been sitting for "10+ years", it aint startin. At the most, if it turns, we can try to crank it to get a compression test. (I left my tester at home)

Body work sucks. That body work is not going to be a lot of fun. Not impossible. The 45swb was way worse, but it took me a lot of hours in a shop with a lot of equipment and the body on a rotisserie to get it looking goodish.

It looks like it would be fun to wheel and build slowly and not give a honey badger about body damage. Think Woody's raisin.
