Hey Guys....

I've gone dormant for the last 3yrs living in Hawaii. I had to leave my rig on the mainland, but as luck would have it I'm looking to move to the Eugene area by years end. Will plan to get the rig there soon upon arrival. I was in Eugene last weekend having a look around, seems to be a muddy place with some logging roads. Is there a trail system in place for off-roading, publicly that is? Prior to Hawaii I was located in SoCal and we had public access to trails. Looking for the low down on Eugene and or Oregon in general.

Thanks and Aloha,

-Matt

shotgun creek OHV park is just outside Springfield, and Brown's camp in the Tillimook state forest is three hours away- plus there are the logging roads, and there is one club in town here that I have looked into but have not attended any meetings or runs...

Oregon Trail 4x4

Oregon Parks and Recreation: Places to ride ATVs

Oregon Parks and Recreation Department: Place to Ride <that's a new one to me; looks like a good site!

AMMO- I'm in Eugene and recentlyt met up with another 'cruiser-head, and just tonight found out that my favorite bike shop is now an ARB dealer; one of the techs just got an '80, and another is a Jeep guy, so there are a few of us around :meh:

Tblume,

Thanks for the leads man. I was feeling out the area last weekend and I didn't spot to many rigs about the town... Crewcab diesels were all the rage tho... :)

Any info you can maybe PM on the area would be awesome, spots to stay clear of for renting a house ect. It seemed like over towards Hendricks park was a nice area, close yet not too close to the school and down town.

Thanks for any help guys,

Aloha

Ninkasi Brewing is a block away from the bike shop/ARB dealer, and as my world travelling friend is fond of saying; "Oregon has better beers made in one county than all of Europe"

Pfff.... and the true colors come out. At least we fend for ourselves . . . even if the food sucks .i..

Ah but our meals and ride are ultimately optional. Water and ammunition, that's all a Marine needs, water is ultimately optional and bayonets never run out :grinpimp:
