Ok, for those of you in the east and southeast, juvenile eastern newts are No Joke. They contain the same toxin as pufferfish and are just as lethal. Charleys liver function was 100 times normal, we found out today when test results came back. He probably has permanent liver and nerve damage from just tasting a newt.

This years heavy rainfall has driven these newts out of their normal habitats which puts all dogs at risk.

Just beware.

Oh, man -- so sorry to hear that. Long term prognosis?

She sleeps against the door and her head goes under curtains my wife has up. This happens when she wakes up

It has been several months since our Bella has passed and Ruby our golden retriever is still quite depressed. She has perked up a little but I can see the heartbreak in her eyes. I look at her and I hurt for her. That alone breaks my heart too. I have stepped in S#!t repeatedly over 50 years and rarely came out smelling like a rose so resiliency is easy for me. You get accustomed to it. I don’t think she understands

When my dogs hurt, that is my Achilles heel. She really needs to have a companion she can relate to all day long.. I filled out the application, spoke to the shelter and we are heading over to meet and greet in a few days. Stay tuned.

The Odd Couple: Felix Unger “ pup spelled backwards is still pup..but dog spelled backwards “. I rest my case!

Shelter dogs are the most gracious! That’s where I found mine.

Just an FYI, when one of our dogs was a pup, he had terrible diarrhea, 100% pumpkin in a can did the trick and our other dog had digestive issues as he got older, the same canned pumpkin filler fixed him. We just added a large spoon full to their food, maybe two table spoons. We find it in the pie/cake section.

So this may be Ruby’s new companion… we met him today, she’s meeting him tomorrow. I was dead set against another dog after 50+ years. We don’t travel, we don’t go out late anymore and my kids moved out 20 yrs ago so we have no built in dog sitters. We have a window….6-7 hours at best. So, we have Ruby and we are just as tied down as if we had 5 dogs. We’ll see how far this goes. My grand children loved him

A day off for Mojo the shop dog highlighted by a roll in hidden snow patch on a hot spring day in the Rockies.

Billy dog had got jealous of me working on the Land Cruiser at the weekend, so decided he needed to remind me he was there when I'd stopped for a spell. No kisses, just head rubs under my chin.

8th birthday for our girl Skye today. Not impressed with a week of wet weather, 3 weeks without the boss lady and little boss lady, and not being allowed in the house overnight (although it does stop her barking at the foxes...)

I don't think she's really moved from where she was asleep last night when I threw the grey bit of bed around her (and dumped a load of loose hair on her)

Billy is equally curled up, and unimpressed:
