Did bulldog canon trail on Sunday morning and then ripped off the mini van steps and installed the TLC rocker panels. Next step is install MT sliders which came last week. 😬

How long did it take to remove the running boards?

It's really simple - brackets along the bottom, screws in wheel well, then pop the clips along the rocker.

I looked at the Yakima too. I've had roof racks in my previous rigs, and really wanted something low profile with decent capacity, without the noise. A lot of the 4 runner guys used the Rola and I thought I would give it a shot. Got it on Amazon for around $180, quality looks good and has good reviews too. ROLA 59504 V-Tex Rooftop Cargo Basket

@HGB
Yes it's simple, it took a couple of hours while taking my time in AZs wonderful climate 🥵.

For each side:
2 screws in the front wheel well, 1 screw in the back wheel well. 3 brackets on the bottom attach the step to the car. Step-side has 2 small bolts, car-side has 2 larger bolts that can be tricky to access. The middle bracket car-side required a swivel socket to get it started and then had to finger loosen. Also, there's an electrical disconnect for the step light that you can squeeze on with your fingers to separate. Once all bolts and screws are out, open both doors, pull the entire step away from the car and the clips will pop out.

The TLC rocker pops right into the old clip holes, and there's a tiny adhesive strip to secure it on the backside of the panel to the car. Put back the 2 screws in the front wheel well + 1 screw in the back, boom you get a factory looking rocker panel + some ugly ass AHS armoring sticking out.

Just finished 2500 miles over 10 days most of it towing our camper. Some shots of the LX above the arctic circle on the Dalton, we had cold foot station to our selves for the required burger. Road was in the best summer shape I can remember, I was able to go 40-45 much of the time, only a few stretches on 10-15 miles that were ~20mph. That said I still noticed 3 vehicles with blown tires, and probably only saw ~20-30 over the 700 miles we traveled up there. Only time I got passed was (and I can’t make this up) was by a Prius... came up on me like I was standing still and was going >60mph easy, driving like they stole it.

Had a father son trip to Talladega National Forest. Camped on Cheaha Mountain. Did the 600-1 and 600-2 Trail. 600-2 was actually more technical than I expected. I’m new to off roading so I took my time picking my line but the LXnever struggled.
