Did Red Cone today in CO. First half of the trail was in light rain which made an already difficult train that much harder. There was a backlog of people at the main obstacle due to it being wet slick and muddy. By the time it was my turn there was a “crowd” with the help of some spotters and crawl control I walked right up it. Eventually got caught on a slider backed up 6 inches and changed my angle and there she goes. One onlooker said “he would have bet $1000 bucks that the Lexus was going to have to be winched up”. If I had a half inch more clearance(35s instead of 34s) or sensor lift I think I would have made it in one go.

100% stock suspension and Slee sliders.
I’ll get the pictures more tomorrow.

Way to put on a show. Isn't it pretty awesome where they will go with practically nothing more than tires. 285/60r20s?

The built in lift is nothing to sneeze at. And that's just the beginning with some easy tweaks as you point out.

You know you had a good weekend when your black LX is labeled as 'grey' on the speeding ticket...

Photos and videos to come after I rest and get all of the 'grey' off.

Correct on Tire Size. I've gone back and forth on should i do the sensor lift and I think i'm going to keep it at stock so if I ever "need" that extra room i can do it on the trail.

I have the same tire size and did a mild sensor lift on the front to level the truck out. Very happy with the results.

What size spacers are you running?

Battle of the facelift... who wins?!

Pre-facelift IMO.

I really like the updated tech, interior, and 8-speed transmission of the 2016+, but I prefer the exterior styling of the earlier LX years; I think the earlier years are cleaner/simpler/more timeless, and will still look good in years to come, whereas the newer design will fade away into 'meh'. Same thing that happened with BMWs of early 2000's, vs. modern ones. The E46, E39, and even E38 are timeless classics that still look great today, while their newer versions, while still nice, mostly had their "15 minutes of fame" and faded away into distant memory. I distinctly recall a time when I had my E46 and a buddy an E92 at a rest stop, and a passer by asked how much "newer" my E46 was. Fantastic design on that machine.

All it will take is someone to produce a darn bumper.

I like them all. I can't fault the 16+ as they are appropriately aggressive IMO for their position in the food chain. The market agrees with increased sales after the refresh.

Neither has a advantage/disadvantage when considering approach/breakover/departure.

I'll take the 16+ with some key hardware changes including tranny, brakes, interior.

New to me 2011 LX with 170k on the odometer. Bought this one because its been dealer serviced it’s whole life. This is right after I got her last Saturday. I’ve since put 2300 miles on her( Clarksville TN- Alameda, CA) and have another ~2700 to go before we see home again. Has the inevitable radiator crack, but it’s only 1-2mm currently and no weeping. Debating whether I was to pick up the parts and replace on a mountaintop in Texas or wait til I get home. Truck has been a dream to use so far, no regrets.

Congrats and welcome to the fold.

I don't know what resources you have, but I personally don't like to wrench under pressure or on a trip, unless it has to be addressed. Murphy has a tendency to visit.

If it's not already weeping, in all likelihood, it'll hold for the rest of the trip just fine. I would buy insurance with a patch fix to support it. Something like this should work well.
