Hey Cruiser Guys, Gary's Annual Fall Run is coming up soon on October 20 at Mount Cheam/Mt. Thurston. This is a family-friendly day run and is suitable for all Land Cruisers. Children welcome. We usually meet for breakfast at the Chilliwack Airport at 8:30 a.m. , otherwise muster around 10:00 past the Vedder crossing bridge (turn left before the bridge) at a spot to be determined. The pull-over parking spot may not be available this year, so Gary will scout along the road for a parking area. Bring a lunch and we will stop at the top of Mt. Cheam. More details to follow.

OK, more details... Make sure you fuel up before this run.
Our muster point will be just past the old 2nd parking lot at 10 a.m. Back your trucks in for a picture and easy get away.
We air-down later at the start of the gravel Forest Service Road.

i thought you had picked up a Suzuki or something?

yeah but it is just like a landcruiser it needs work and I'd rather put money into my landcruiser, samurai might get some work done next spring, but the 19L per 100km fuel economy has to get fixed

So, for those of you coming for the first time, you have a choice to meet us at the Chilliwack Airport Cafe at 8:30 for breakfast, or, meet us on Chilliwack Lake Road at
10:00 - 10:30 at a pullover parking site.

Go from the freeway south on Vedder Road all the way to the bridge, but at the round-about just before the bridge, turn left heading East along Chilliwack Lake Road. Do not cross the bridge. You will have to head along the road a while until we find a suitable place to line up your Cruisers for a group photo.
If the weather is fine, we will serve free smokey hot dogs up at the top of the mountain. Bring your camera for spectacular views. If the weather is bad, come anyway, but bring your own sandwich because we don't want to put up tarps and start cooking dogs in the rain. Dress warmly because we sometimes get a cold wind up top.
See you there, should be a good time.

A couple of guests are coming to this run who have contacted me through e-mail. Liz and her 23-year old son, Ben.

Yes, thanks again to Gary and Bill for their organizing the day and cooking lunch (thanks CC coffers).

Pete took the time to have an impromptu highlift information session while the smokies and hot dogs where being cooked. Another information session borne out of the "Train the Trainer" program the 4WDABC just held. Well done!

Contractors were fertilizing some areas on the hill and used an old log sort as the bucket pickup location. It was perhaps a km or so up, after where you turn left off the Bench Rd, right at the Y where you stay right. The B-Train was parked down on the Bench Rd and offloading too three trucks, which were cycling up to the hopper loading spot.

No worries John, glad you enjoyed the day. Should have aired down more to let the rubber suspension do more work, but it was good to stretch the 74's legs on a trail.

Day late, but worth it.

Thanks for a great day everyone. Special thanks to Gary and Bill for leading and organizing the run. Also, much appreciate Greg letting me go shotgun.

Very impressed with Liz and Ben. You did great, especially for your first 4WD run.

Thanks, John. Ben and I had a great time. We were very lucky to have all of you to show us how it's done!

We had a great turnout of 12 vehicles & 22 people: Pete G & Patti, Rick & Laura Lee, Andrew M, Liz & Ben, Steve, Jeff & Becky including daughters Brianna & Cassidy, Darryl H, Greg B, John G, Ruwi, Garry B & Nicole with dogs Cliff & Staz, John V & Helen, Gary T, Jeff & son, & Bill.

Perfect day, no breakdowns, easy lunch smoky dawgs, a bit of mud, and perfect views. Thanks everybody for coming and getting out wheeling while the weather lasted.

We saw the helicopter on our way up to Cheam. Was wondering what it was doing.
