1974 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser for sale. All original, very clean daily driver. Removable top 92000 miles. Run, drives, and stops very well original f motor with four speed transmission . Well here goes we are in Clovis, NM....Hate to do this but we are moving to Alaska and I don't want to haul it 4000 Miles! So I am selling my 1972 Toyota FJ40. Original 1F with 3 spd, buckets seats and benchseat in the back (still have the original jump seats as well) 33X10.50 BFG Mud terrrains on stock steel rims and hubcaps with spare BFG All terrain mounted on the back with hi-lift and gas can holder. Recent paint,exhaust,wiring harness,new front fenders, new rear corners and sill. Comes with Bikini top. Interior is Raptor lined. I am selling my 1978 BJ40 with the 'B' motor. I do not have the time to fix what needs to be done to get her back on the road again. I was in the process of rebuilding the transfer case when I found out the output shaft on my transmission was worn. From there I purchased a used transmission and transfer case with an approximate 70k miles on the unit.
My stock transmission is a H41 with the unit purchased came out of a 1978 FJ40 lending it to be a H42. I had planned on switching out the stock unit with the one purchased but I soon found out that the input shaft did not mate to my diesel.
All that needs to be done is a rebuild kit from SOR for about $320, use the good output shaft from the unit purchased and put everything back...

25k miles on rebuilt engine and most everything has been rebuild; 2F motor; SM 420 Transmission, Lockers on both axles. Was used as a daily driver for a couple of years, but just got another FJ40 and run out of space so I need to sell this blue beast

Offered for sale is a very original 1978 FJ40. Vehicle has 26,000 original miles. With the exception of some minor rust where the tub meets the roof, there is no decay to the body. Paint is original. Recent work includes new Optima Red Top battery, new OEM parking brake, new OEM hoses, brake master cylinder, clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder, new tires to include the spare on new OEM later style wagon wheels. Have the original split rims if somebody wants to convert it back. All fluids have been replaced. New air, oil and fuel filters. Brakes have been checked and still plenty of life left in the pads. This has been sitting around for me for too long now. I have a '64 (though registration says '65, it takes '64 parts, VIN supports '64) that hasn't moved in years. It has a chevy 350 engine, Toyota 3sp tranny and toyota gear box, 33" tires, in relatively good shape (rust along the rear cross member where it's common to rust) and along a wheel well. It hasn't been turned over in quite a while, but was in fine running shape when I parked it. Now, nature has gotten into it (mice live in it) and it needs cleaned out. Canvas top that needs attention (plastic windows not terribly clear), no hard top. I do have a second fuel tank that goes with it, but it needs to be reinstalled. Wipers need replaced, other odds and ends as well...
