(Engine needs to be tuned up, has not run in a long time. I did fire it up a few weeks ago, and with a good tune up it should run fine)
3 Speed transmission with column shift (Transfer case is missing parts)
Sheet metal in good condition with minor rust issues. Does have a few dents and dings that will need to be repaired.

This Landcruiser is very original. There is no cut outs in the dash, doors or anywhere that I can find that TOYOTA didn’t put there. The only things I can think of that are off from factory that I don’t have the original parts are the lift and associated parts, and muffler and regular maintenance things.

i picked this up a few months back with intentions of completing it. its a 65 frame and bed with a 77 cab. the frame is very nice. the body is not rust free but close. the floor has been cut out and i have a replacement pan for it. i have everything but the headache rack and the seats. it is a project! looking for $5000 give me a call if you have questions or need to see specific pics. luke 859-760-1942

It's time to sell my BJ42. I purchased it 5 years ago and planned to have it restored. It is in good shape. All original metal. But, as usual, there is rust to repair. The frame is in good shape. The 3B engine runs great. 313,375 km. Two years ago, I had a substantial amount of work done on it to get it running well. This included new belts, gaskets, filters, rocker shaft and grind rockers / polish towers, re-pack bearings and valve set. Compression tested fine.
Passed Air Care (BC) with flying colours (1.33% Opacity...maximum allowed is 30%). Brakes were also re-done. Two new batteries as well. I have records going back to 1997 (myself and previous owner). Other than the tires, OME suspension, rear Detroit locker and...
Have this one up on craigslist Las Vegas as well, unrestored 1982 (Sept 1982 build) Australian import FJ45. Has new 16 inch white wagon wheels and tires. 226000 km (140k miles) on original motor, starts and runs great. All gauges working except engine temperature, looks like PO disconnected wire at the block for some reason. Surface rust with a couple cancerous spots on cab, but floorboards and interior metal are in great condition. Bed is not original to the truck (was a cab/chassis from the factory) and has significantly more rust than the rest of the truck. Frame is surface rust only. Factory power steering, full floater rear end, and drum brakes all around.

1981 Toyota Land Cruiser Diesel, runs great. It is a 6 cylinder naturally aspirated diesel, and starts on the first turn every time with no smoke. The truck is a 4-speed, but it has an overdrive for the highway, which compounds each gear. So, it essentially has 8 gears. It has been on multiple extended trips down to California and back; it is a true expedition vehicle. It has a winch, snorkel, safari rack, and more. The truck was legally imported from New Zealand and has a clear WA state title. It is a right hand drive, but don't be scared, it actually only takes about 10 minutes to get used to. I have been hunting for a BJ42 for a while now but am getting more serious now.
Id like a beige or green 42 with 5sp and PS. Chances of that happening are slim to none but what the ****, ill give it a shot.
Id like but am not limited to these kind of mods:
-OME springs are a plus...
-Alum. tub is even better....
-Tall skinny 33's sweet...
-Turbo would be nice but im fine to build a system myself.
Im not looking for too much of a project as the BJ60 eats up all my time. Id rather spend a bit more and get a turn key 42. I think my budget is fair.
Ill travel to get the right truck but one located in the west coast would be great.

I have a beautiful 1980 HJ45 Toyota Landcruiser HJ45 Diesel Troopcarrier for sale. This this a great example of an original, stock, unmolested Troopy that had very LITTLE rust before restoration. Its just been painted mustard yellow and has newly reupholstered seats. Powered by a Toyota H six cyclinder diesel engine, Rugged 4x4, power brakes, manual steering, manual transmission with four speed.
Currently it has 31" tires with white steel rims as shown in the photos or I also have a set of original Toyota split rims painted gray in "like new" condition with skinny tires if the buyer would prefer those...
