Hi all.. was changing my diffs and transfer case oils yesterday and noticed this was leaking. It had some in and out movement, which was fixed by slightly bending the metal tab, held on by a 12mm bolt. However, the sensor housing itself seems to spin very easily by hand and doesn't tighten. I removed the sensor, and there appears to be a metal washer inside, but no o-ring I could see. I'm hoping the leak is sorted after restricting the in and out movement, but still not sure if the rotation is normal or not?

Many thanks,
Pete

theres an O-Ring on that (speedo sensor)

Thank you! mine did not look like that when I removed it! There was a thin keyed metal rod.. maybe the other part stayed in the transfer case. Need to have another look in the housing!

that tab held by the 12mm goes into the slot on the sensor. Yours is kind of over the edge of it pulling it down

the little keyed rod, do not lose that or your car will run oddly due to no speed being detected

Thanks for that. I'm going to grab the o-rings and pull it back out on the weekend and make sure it's all together properly.

Think Slee has write up on the newbie guide as well
I can't seem to find his thread, but found another. @OGBeno says basically just replace the one o-ring (p/n 96711-24030) and all should be well.
