It's time to sell my BJ42. I purchased it 5 years ago and planned to have it restored. It is in good shape. All original metal. But, as usual, there is rust to repair. The frame is in good shape. The 3B engine runs great. 313,375 km. Two years ago, I had a substantial amount of work done on it to get it running well. This included new belts, gaskets, filters, rocker shaft and grind rockers / polish towers, re-pack bearings and valve set. Compression tested fine.
Passed Air Care (BC) with flying colours (1.33% Opacity...maximum allowed is 30%). Brakes were also re-done. Two new batteries as well. I have records going back to 1997 (myself and previous owner). Other than the tires, OME suspension, rear Detroit locker and custom roof rack, this thing is pretty much stock. Power steering and 5-speed transmission on this one. Left-hand-drive...not an import.
There are so very few of the 1984's around these days. Only a few hundred were sold in North America. This model year is a pretty rare breed.
This would make a great restoration project. I simply do not have the resources to do it right now and do not want to see it deteriorate unnecessarily.
Asking $12,500. I'm in no hurry to sell. I can store if no acceptable offers surface. Serious inquiries only please. I don't want to waste my time and I won't waste yours. Also includes a heavy duty winch, manuals (repair and operator's) and parts microfiche. I have the roll bar as well (not installed).
