1982 Toyota BJ42

Very original BJ42 with a 3B Toyota diesel motor 4 speed transmission and brand new tires. Full floating rear axle and factory split rim wheels. Bio diesel ready or convert to SVO or leave as is.

96,500 Original miles 155,200km

Everything works on this rig all electrical, mechanical, winch and the glove box light.

This Landcruiser is very original. There is no cut outs in the dash, doors or anywhere that I can find that TOYOTA didn’t put there. The only things I can think of that are off from factory that I don’t have the original parts are the lift and associated parts, and muffler and regular maintenance things.

Things I have done to it that are not factory but could be removed very easily to renew to factory. I put in a glow plug bypass switch so you can manually glow the plugs (makes winter starting easy as a summer day) you can see the push button in the dash cluster used factory hole, front bumper is after market this comes with the original that is newly powder coated. The rear step I have and come’s with it. The rear hitch and trailer wiring can be removed very easily. The stereo shelf is great but not original. It holds a CD player and speakers, the stereo also has a direct USB hook up (shown in pictures) shelf also has nice space to put things overhead. (make sure not to put anything heavy up there as it could pop out and land on your head).

It is 12V system originally from New Zealand. This model was made striped of all the fancy stuff. No dash pad which is nice cause it keeps it from cracking. It came factory with full floating rear axle and split rim wheels. Just put on 5 brand new Interco Mud and Snow tires. It is lifted a couple inches and actually rides nice for a Landcruiser, much better than my 1975 FJ40 I used to have.

This vehicle is very reliable and drives great. Gets 25-30 mpg depending on how you drive it. Steering, suspension and braking is tight. It is a turn key Landcruiser ready to drive where ever you want to take it.. I have driven this vehicle cross country and multiple trips out to Eastern Oregon. It is a very fun vehicle. Once you drive it you can tell how solid this one is.

Comes with original jack and tool kit, glove box emergency light. Original front bumper that has a fresh powder coat finish. Rear step, winch remote, roll bar from a 1978 FJ40 that fits.

There is very minimal rust on this vehicle. But of course there are some spots. I included pictures of the spots of the Landcruiser that would need work for it to be perfect. The two rear panels have squares that are about 4” x 5” that have been patched before with metal and then bondo applied over it. The bondo is cracking as shown in the pictures. The rest of the rear fenders are clean. The same thing on the front right where the fender hits the running boards there are a couple small holes, easily patched. I think some one drove it on the farm and left the mud sitting right on those spots for to long cause it is right in those concentrated spots on both sides. The hood has a small area of rust as well and a couple spots that are surface rust that chipped the paint.

Engine and bay are in amazing shape and all mechanical and electrical parts are Genuine Toyota. I chose not to spray paint the under carriage black so you can see the frame and under side of tub have no rust except of course some surface discoloration. But if you like I could have this done (makes it look real clean but also hides a lot)

If you want a solid cruiser that will last you from years to come and is ready to drive anywhere. This is it. $17,500 obo

Don’t want to sell but need to fund fixing up the house that was built 62 years before this rig.:bang:

nice rig, like the vent window doors.
I thought that dash came out in 83?
GLWTS.

That price seems extremely fair for a BJ in that kind of condition. I paid a lot more then that for mine. Good luck with the sale. My favorite color too.

how many thousands of dollars is it going to take to get mine to look like that...hmmm

Wouldn't want to offend you. Bump for a nice rig.
