1985 bj60 diesel fuel pump problem(short video)
Two weeks ago I bought an engine and transmission 3b with 5 speed, and I found a problem with the injector pump. Pistons number 2 and number 3 were stuck. When I crank the engine, it doesn't make any fuel delivery. Can anybody help me with this kind of issue? Thank you

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but that is going to need a strip down.

You should never open up a fuel pump with that gunk on top of the hand primer sitting there.

Did this happen after you bought the engine or did you buy the engine without seeing it run? Just trying to work why its happened, its not common for this to happen.

I bought it this way. Can you tell me how the elements come out ? I think they are stuck in. When I turn the engine over the no.2 & no. 3 do not move but 1&4 are ok. can anyone help me out. thankyou.

Can you push them down with your fingers? They have a cam underneath ,so they are obviously stuck in the up postion.

I would not go any further until you have downloaded a manual for the B engines. The fuel pump has about 100 pages on disassembly, reassembly and adjustment.
You will also need o rings ,gaskets and SST
This all usually done in a specialised, super clean workshop.

IMHO,the best way might be to ask around for a used 3B fuel pump. These are one of the more reliable pumps ,so buying used is not such a risk and they are usually cheap.
Say ,a few hundred bucks.
