I have owned it since 1985 it has 245k on her back in 2001 I took her of the road and she sat for 4 years without being started when it was time to move it we threw in a couple of batteries and she started up with some hesitation and clouds of smoke.
I was so impressed that she still ran I insured and drove it for 4 months with no issues when the insurance ran out I parked it again well today I fired her up no smoke idled smooth I think I will have to put it on the road for a couple of months.
God I love my Diesels

Hello,

Nothing like a 3B engine. It can take a lot of punishment and keep going. And it goes on and on on a single tank.

Do you have any plans for the old lady? Upgrades, restoration?

Want to keep it as stock as possible, she needs a new tub but the rest of it is in really good shape considering it has lived it's entire life in Canada.
Eventually I will refurb her not restore it and a new coat of Freeborn Red and new tags all around.

My BJ42 sat in my shed for 3 years. Put in a new battery and it fired right up. Same deal I was moving house and when I drove it to the new place it smoked a fair bit for about 20km and then after that no black smoke at all. They certainly are amazing and extremely reliable.
