Spring is here and I am itching to get my sliders, rear bumper and skid plate built.
Laying under the rig thinking about my plan of attack I notice that my 45 gallon muffler took a hit (no doubt on a rock or some other imovable object) and had a compression wrinkle/fold like you squished it in a vice lengthwise, that and a split seam on top. Very much showing it's age.
The resonator will be gone with the rear bumper build.
PLAN A: had me making a pair of cat replacement pipes that would basically just bolt in to give me more clearance and not interfear with the sliders. (my 93 has the side by side cats and O2 sensors are both pre cat)
PLAN B: Cat to tail pipe total removal (76 lbs on the fish scale)
(save the cat and the 2 into 1 over-the-frame piece cause they are very expensive looking Toyota bits and we may get emision testing here in the future) the rest is scrap.
New exaust = 2 inline cherrybombs tucked up beside the frame rail. It is louder than stock, but the stock system on these things is as quiet as it gets, so I knew that was going to happen.
It sounds like my old 40 now. Abit louder when you are on the pedal.
Sounds good wheelin and roostin around in corn snow. No back preasure popping on decents like on a dirtbike with a straight pipe.
All in all I think I might keep it like this for the summer.
Anybody hear of piping your exaust through the frame rail to the back? I was thinking about that it would make use of some useless space.
