Will a factory OEM electric winch mount cleanly to an ARB winch bar?

I had originally intended to mount my OEM electric winch behind my factory bumper for a 'clean look', but I got hit about 3 weeks ago now and need to replace my bumper....so I'm going to go with an ARB but don't want to buy a new winch too.

So....has anyone mounted an Electric Toyota OEM winch to an ARB bar?

It seems the mounts on the winch are on the bottom, so I don't know if this possible without drilling my own holes in the new bumper?

Thanks for the help guys.

-Jeff

The ARB bumper accepts winches with the universal rectangular bolt pattern of 4.5" x 10".

I have an ARB winch bar on my 80 and a stock HDJ81 winch waiting to go in. Preliminary eyeballing and measurements indicate it will work out. The lower plate that the winch sits on will mount it to the 80 frame rails. A spacer will need to be fabbed to bolt the front mounting surface of the winch to the back face of the ARB bar. You can not install the OEM winch right up to the back face of the bar like you would a Warn since it is too wide and won't fit all the way in against the flat center portion of the bar.
Clear as mud?

I am likely going down the same road as Jeff in a bit any ideas on how thick the spacers for the front would need to be?

Jeff:

Depending upon my schedule count me in, if we need to fab anything up I can cover that end and make 2 of everything.

Probably not a US part

Great idea guys!!

When finished, please post some pics of your mods. I may be going that route as well.
