i see these dyna's cruising around every now and again the ones with the welbody tray look very simular if not the same to the W.B trays you see very rarely in aus on the 75 series maybe there wider on the dynas?
Are they same size or interchanable etc??

They look pretty close - maybe try looking in the toyota EPC??? Mounts might be different - but if the side part numbers are the same it will give you an idea.

Clint, the guys at Midland 4wd tried to put a Dyna bed on a 75 and it leaves a big gap behind the caband I think it is longer at the rear also.
They said it just didnt look right.
Might look ok if you wanted to put a chassis mounted Hiab between cab and bed:hhmm:

Or maybe it could be chopped down:idea:
They look stronger than a cruiser bed

Did you see Just Commercials in Wangara have a 2000 FZJ79 for sale for $15k:grinpimp:

ill be needing my wider flat tray for my new wide diff ,i think with a rear body it would stick out way to far and then yellow sticker for me im not a fan of rubber mat flares

last time i seen a fzj there for sale i went up to see it ,the blokes like yea yea all good its at the top yard see this mint silver 79 alloys, good bar etc opened the bonnet and there was a nice 1hz:doh:
There is also in wangara a fzj105 with a (presume 80 series because safari stop the kit in 97)safari turbo kit for $14k a mate test drove it said it throws you back in your seat but cuts out at high revs porb need a bigger fuel pump

Is the other tray wider than the existing tray?
Dont go wider than a 1.8m tray or it will have an air craft carrier look

I would really like 78/79 factory turbo but I also have a line a on a good 1HD T I could put in my 75
Somedays I want a 105 diesel with a turbo:rolleyes:

Yes for sure mate afactory 78 or 79 td would be the bomb but i still havent really seen any under $32g though
a 1hdt would also be cream and def cheaper and the factory 1hdt look in a 7x series is priceless
i checked out the fzj79 in wangara today 198000 km looks av needs a good polish or paint is absolu stock as a rock std front bumper ,skinnys ,but has SUB TANK yew i tried to look at the fuel line set up but my coil hats will hit the sub tank bar anyways

Also check out that turbo fzj105 its sold but still in the yard had a look the kit is a safari which is way dif to the 80 series safari 1fz kit ,i spoke to safari people a while ago and they said they stoped the kit when the 80series stopped (maby only oz then) . So were did this 100 series safari kit come from??

Here is a mad 4x4 Dyna truck:)

I know your only interested in the tray but that is one serious rig.
Wonder how it would go off road?
Ramp over might be a problem;)

EDIT: Posted wrong pic. this is an ONKA Truck. Sorry.

They are made in WA. They go ok offroad but weighing 5 tons, they have their limitiations in deep sand.
They are more designed for plodding along on bad roads
I was offered a test drive by one of the managers at their testing track once but never took them up on the offer: (

so...with the dyna bed you could extend the cab?

I suppose so ,but it all starts to get bigger than Ben Hir and you would still have the longer overhang at the rear.
The pic doesnt show it ,but the Dyna tray has its wheel arches further forward than the cruiser.
Its just better to use a tray or track down a factory tub

I understand now. I like these Arkana tubs the outback cops use. Leave off the cage and build it in alloy and you have the asthetics of the factory tub and the benefits of a tray

I saw one for $28K with 250000
The thing I would be wary about on the FZJ78/79 is they often have a high turnover rate because of the fuel cost with maintenance being chewed up in fuel bills.
Of course it works the other way too, they are sometimes used for occasional transport and do very little real work.

Maybe the kit was from overseas as the 1FZ is still in production for South America and Africa,or maybe they used parts from other kits.
Whats so different about it?

A bit irrelevant but here's the 4x4 Dyna. 14B-T Engine.

Dyna4x4-1.jpg

Sorry not a cruiser but it's a Toyota!!!!

Cool Dyna:cool:. Just needs a bullbar.

The 1st ones a Japanese military 4wd dyna.
The 2nd is a Queensland Diahatsu Delta factory 4wd (sold in oz in limited numbers)

The 3rd is what I think is the best looking tub for cab chassis(with the monkey cage removed)
Nice and wide;)
They are still making these in Wangara Clint:D

I guess the whole plumbing and the intake pipe is a cast thing with safari and stiff casted into it but i spose the rest (turbo and manifold would be same) i have pics on other computer ill post up

I test drove that fzj79 this morning b4 work for a mate who is up north atm who's interested and I guess you shouldnt judge a book by its cover it was the nicest cruiser ute ive ever driven:eek: no noises no winds every thing works its a 1 owner from bigrock well impressed, i really liked driving on those factory cheese cutters split rims:cool:

As for the bloke who makes the police backs they look neat but im a fan of the flat trays, there is a biege ute in wangara with a beige ex police tub like in the photo you psted( must be ex police and painted) he also moulded and makes rear flares for troopys they look like the shape of the ones on the front rv 79 series he has a mint vdj78 with nice alloys with the flares on out the front of the shop

hey there guys ya can put a dyna tub on a 75 have to shorten the front of the tub so the wheel arches line up about 80 or so mm from memory. if u do this the rear of the tub is about 2 or 3 inches longer then the chassie mounts dont line up but is easy to put new ones on i did this to my own ute a while back looks good and the tub is handy as .. have pics if anyone wants to see.

Post em up mate very keen to see
