Hello all! I have been lurking around here for a while enviously eyeballing everyone's rigs. I have recently dredged up what I think is a viable option to get me into the 60 game. However, the truck in question is located many miles away and even though I'm brand new around here, I'm calling in a favor from the MUD community.

From what I can see in the photo's this truck looks to be in wonderful shape. Per the current owner, it has always been a west coast truck and is in top notch condition. I'm looking for some feedback from those in the know about what I need to be on the look out for. I'd hate to drive the 6 hours to see this thing and be disappointed because I missed something obvious. If you could please take a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks!

The seller's been very helpful and there are a couple more pics I can post if you think there's something I'm missing.

Thanks again.

The 60 looks to be in very good shape. Nothing obvious jumps out.

As you know the obvious spots to rust are the rockers and rear wheel wells, look closely at those spots for bondo if you can get more pics.

Ultimately seeing it in person and taking a test drive is the key.

Looks good from pics, new rad. and some hoses. Front fender, side lights might be broken due to discoloration. Appears to be a persistant h20 leak which has caused some rust Id check that out. Price woud be a factor. mike

definately Carfax it, at a minimum.

Yr best bet is to post up in the nearest Club section to where it's at, and ask a reputable Mudder to give it a look-see for ya.

Next best, ask Mudders for a reputable shop reference and pay them to look at it and write up their findings for you. (note, sometimes you can get the seller to do this as a good faith measure).

I agree

Also look at the inside area of the frame on both sides of the spare tire. There is channel or sleeve in the frame on both sides. Make sure it is not rusted to the point of metal spawling (sp?) or flaking.

Thanks a bunch everyone, I really do value all of your opinions and input. I do feel pretty good about this truck and am going to take the next step to closing the deal and making the trip. Wish me luck.

Where is the rig located?
