Hey everyone. I am having a few dramas with registering my FJ45 and I need a little help with finding a source for the original overall stock height of a FJ45. My year is a 77 but I'd take anything.

Wiki and a few other places list the hardtop height as 78.8inches (2000mm) and I was hoping (praying) that one of the community members here might have access to a manual that says something similar I can use to backup the data.

I've been downloading and buying manuals but none of them so far have actually listed an OEM height.

Many thanks. :)

It is for an early one but hope it helps

Thanks. I'm sure they'll just argue that the later ones must be lower, but i'll add it to my email.

I'd still be keen as hell if anyone has a scan or even online data from a later year.

I think D'Animal's is stock height. Send them a pic.

I already sent them a pic of my 40 as a reference. Didn't help much...

Just a bump before I have to ring an have another argument with the rego people.

Even if you don't have a scan or anything, just tell me what your manual has listed as a height. If I know what manual it's from I can go an order one.

Does anyone know if 40s and 45s were officially different heights?

Had a guy on another forum really pull through for me with some data for his user manual.

But i was just wondering if anyone here knew what the V and the P denoted in the model names.

V is hard top. P is for pickup. FJ40LV would be a LHD hard top. FJ45LV would be a long whell base (wagon) LHD hard top. So the L just means LHD. RHD do not get a letter.

Send a pm to Living in the Past. He is one of many very knowledgable members on this board who can probably answer your questions.

edit: he answered while I was typing.

Excelent. So what is the difference between the fj45(l) listing and the fj45(l)p? Aren't the both pickups?

Which height should I use for my hardtop pickup? Fj45 or v or p?

It appears by the over all length the FJ45(l) would be a troopy soft top. Its the same over all length of the FJ45(l)V. The FJ45(l)P would be a truck

Use P for your hard top pickup.
