This was my 1983 FJ 40 LX that I Purchased for $5000 and owned around 10 years ago and did a total rebuild on that took 4 months and then sold it 12 months later in Dec 99 for $11000 Aus.It had all the factory LX options except for Air cond.
I purchased a BJ factory Tachometer and drilled the dash out and then removed the factory diesel gauge and fitted a aftermarket gauge to the factory tacho fascia then fitted it to the dash.
Injoy the pictures.
Cheers

Very cool! Nice 'Cruiser. Looks like you did a nice job on it. Did you use a skim coat of bondo where you patched the rear quarter panels? I'm planning on taking care of the bumps in mine the same way, and wondered if the bondo was necessary to smooth it all out.

Also, is that trailer a 70-series pick-up bed, with a custom built tent attatched? Looks very functional. Cool ride! Bummer you had to sell it, but I imagine it was worth it.

Nice pics mate
looking at those vb cans , the pics and resto must be pretty old

Love the pics of WA.

I MUST get back there!

Oh - and nice cruiser too. (But I couldn't do all that and flick it on to someone else. I'd have to keep it!)

G.day Cliint.
was 1999 so was when VB was all the rage. But I'am a Bundy Rum drinker through and through.

im hearing ya mate .i will have a bundy over any drink any time

Nice work! Always like the LX 40s... I really like the trailer / camper setup made from a 70 series. Those three wiper blades are cool. Is that dog a Kelpie in the teardown pics?
