I installed one of those oil bypass hoses today. As I was taking the fill plug off the t/c I actually heard air getting sucked in, like it was a vacuum. When I took the fill plug off the tranny, oil started dumping, so I got everything on as quickly as possible and didn't look to much.

Anyway, what's the best way to gauge the oil levels now? I'm guessing I'm not full seeing as some dumped out and I have had a couple leaks. Should I just fill the transfer case? Just fill the tranny? Top both off?

Will the extra oil from the tranny just get pulled into the t/c? Is it a gravity thing, or is the oil actually getting "sucked" back into the t/c?

Top both of them off, install the bypass, and the oil that moves from the t/c up to the trans will just fall back down through the hose.
