I finally finished my anti-wrap bar. I used a mount kit from Ruff Stuff to mount it to the axle and used a pair of rod ends that I had laying around at the other end.

I think it turned out pretty well, should get the job done.

just FYI, looks good BUT if that is the stock crossmember on there, the metal is thin and you will eventually rip the mount (tear) from the stock crossmember tube. May want to look into a different mounting method or even better rebuild the crossmember to something beefier.

I am basing this advice on several threads I have seen on mud where this has happened. My track bar mounts to the frame.

Looks great!

I have heard what Noah said, you might chech the condition of the crossmember, is it a 2f or 350?

Thanks for the advise. It is the stock crossmember, I have seen some people have had those problems, I'm planning on beefing up the crossmember/mount, not sure exactly how I am going to do it yet though...

The crossmember is in good shape, no rust anywhere, seems to be really solid when I notched it, so I'm thinking if I brace it up a little more it should be ok. I've got an F/SM420/3-speed t-case in there.

track bar looks good just curious why doesnt any one mount those to the rear bumper. should work the same and rear is stronger, my 6x6 has 1 to the front and 1 to the rear and they seem to work the same good luck

Yeah, I'm sure that would work. One problem I could see would be that the bar would have to be pretty short (I flipped my springs so it would probably be a good 8"-10" shorter than it is now), not how that would affect performance.

I can't seem to post up my pics here. Must be to big and I'm too dumb to figure out resizing. I have pics of the one I just finished on Pirate. Page5

Hopefully it will work out well.

The other problem I see with that last track bar is there is no triangulationg. Won't that tear itself apart? Not trying to critisize. (or spell either:doh:)

That looks short and at one heck of an angle. How's the articulation? The axle brackets don't look too strong either. Have you beaten on it hard?

not sure what you mean by "beaten on it hard" but I don't use much of the skinny pedal in the rocks, I try to stay off of the gas unless I really need it off road. Flex is great, I can stuff the tires fully. I do tromp on the gas quite a bit while ON ROAD though and this track bar holds the tires to the pavement nicely. I have had zero problems with it in the past 5+ years, and have logged many miles on and off road on some decent hard trails, nothing crazy though. Some people don't like the design but it has worked out for me nicely. It is tucked up high out of the way and is simple. I like the bracket that holds to the frame as it is a good strong point vs. the stock crossmember. FYI, there is not much of an angle, the pic is deceiving.....

Les, looks good. I remember when those heims on your truck were THE must have for nissan steering. I like 'em better on rusty. As for the weakness of your crossmember, ive seen the way you wheel, and its a 50/50 chance it will survive:) Ive seen you finesse...and destroy!!! (IH, Evans Creek, 3 am);)

I wrap mine arould. and then welded some taps and still havent broken. and I have landed on my bar pretty hard on rocks. and im not easy with the gas all the time

My trac/wrap bar is/was laid out very similar. I don't know how but my mounts ripped off the axle. The welds obviously didn't have even enough penetration. The axle houing itself is ripped open in a few places, but the welds simply broke in others. FWIW the factory crossmember held up just fine. I don't know why some people have good luck using the factory crossmember, and others do not. Ideally I would like to mount the front of mine in a different place, but the crossmember is just convenient, and has worked for me for quite some time.
