I got a Starmate 4 for X-Mas, and this is where I ended up installing it. It is a good spot, but I have to Velcro it in place, and wiht the Velcro behind it, it takes up too much room, and so I can't close the garage door opener holder it sits in.

I think it might work better if it had one of the newer sunglasses holder on the newer 100's. Has anyone swapped one over? Will it just fit right in the overhead control panel?

Thats exactly where I want to mount my Ham radio remote head. I have a 98 w/o sunroof so I have sunglass holders. I haven't tried it yet but eyeballing it looks like one will work in the garage remote location the other is to small.

not bad but have u considered removing the door and custom mounting the unit, so that way the door will not be in the way of the rear view mirror

Actually, no the thought never crossed my mind! I guess because I was trying to achieve the ability to close it. Maybe I will take a look this weekend, and see! Thanks!

When my factory stereo pooped out, I replaced it with the Kenwood unit that has a built in Sirius receiver. I was planning on putting controls for aftermarket lighting up there myself.

Yeah, the 80 series I just sold had the Kenwood deck with the Kenwood/Sirius module allowing use through the deck.

This Starmate was wierd to find a place for that didn't look bad.
