Hey Guys,
I'm selling my 1993 FZJ 80 Turbo Diesel on ebay and wanted to be sure the word got out so I thought I would post here in case any of you have any interest.
In 2006 I removed the original engine and installed a GM 6.5 Turbo Diesel from a 1993 Chevy K2500. It runs well and I have been driving as a "toy" since the conversion was done, apporximatly 4-5 years.
Here is a list of specifics;
1993 FZJ 80 Dark Green exterior, dark gray interior
I bought it from the original owner in 2003
268,000 on body and chassis
Driven 7000 miles since conversion
6.5 turbo diesel with 87,000 miles, runs excellent
4L80e electronically controlled transmission, rebuilt with 3000 miles
PCM computer controls transmission, fully adjustable with laptop
Factory transfer case mounted to 4L80e with advanced adapter
Factory locking center, front and rear differentials
New Peninsular mechancial injection system, lines and injectors
All new accessories - alternator, power steering pump, vacuum pump, radiator, glow plug controller, etc.
Custom 3.5" mandral bent exhuast system
Fabricated factory air box to work with turbo set-up, no cone filter!
5 new General Grabber tires with approximatly 7000 miles
All factory gauges function properly
Factory shift levels are in original location and work properly
OME Shocks and front springs, 2.5"
Interior is in good shape considering age, rear carpet is stained, seats show normal wear for age
Body has chips and imperfections, including minor rust at the bottom of 3 of the 4 doors and on the rear hatch
No dents
Provisions for cruise control and A/C are in place, however A/C needs custom hose and cruise needs custom cable to function
Oil cooler line has minor leak, radio antenna broken, radio works but should be replaced including rear speaker, other minor imperfections.
The engine runs very well and pulls strong, significanly better acceration than the stock 6.
Let me know if you have any questions, 515-202-6733.
