When do the dates for this event get set? I'd like to have something a number of months in advance for planning a trip from the east coast.

It's always been the week leading up to father's day weekend. there have been some snow issues the last couple of years and I don't know if Tony plans to change the dates. I hope not as the summer is looking pretty busy next year.

This is what I was thinking about. I plan to take as much time off as possible ( a month or so ) and wanted to make sure that it wasn't going to get pushed back farther into the summer.

I talked to Tony last weekend. Rubicon Springs hasn't set any dates, and may wait until Feb.

As Ross notes, Rubicon Soda Springs has done a 180 on scheduling since the snow fall and fall out from its affects last winter. To date, there are no dates set for 2012 (for anyone).

While I empathize for those of you attempting to schedule vacations or travel plans, I simply cannot force them to assign a weekend. Additionally, their hesitation makes me speculate whether or not we would even get our usual weekend.

Further more... I am looking very hard at changing next years format in preparation for the 25th Rubithon in 2013. Attendance has been steadily declining over the last 4 or 5 years, and my stalwort committee folks are getting tired (and burnt out). Make no mistake, committee is work, plain and simple.

While I am not ready to share these changes publicly as they are in their infancy, I think I can note that the 25th anniversary of Rubithon in 2013 (in which I am very excited about) will be my last as Rubithon chairman. (I know, you've heard that BS before.)

Id' like to go out with the best (and best attended) Rubithon ever on it's 25th anniversary. So skip next year and set your sights on 2013!

(oops, I probably already let too much info out here... )

Thank you for the candid response, Tony. Hopefully Rubicon Springs is able to figure the dates out sooner rather than later, but it is what it is. From what I've heard, the Rubithon committee has done an excellent job in the past years so I applaud you for that and thank you for your efforts. Whether this year or next, I look forward to being able to hit that trail and meet the people that attend each year. Thank you and make sure to give us an update as soon as you can!

Not crazy per se. Generally, it has been Father's Day weekend. Last year's record snow fall caused the date to move into July. This year the Rubicon Springs owners haven't opened the reservation books.

Based on what has happened over the last 10 years or so, I'd say have flexibility to move your plans out to as late as August. It shouldn't be earlier than Father's Day, but it certainly could slip, just depends on the weather. .

This will be my first time to the event!!
That is the weekend of my wedding anniversary.... Wife said I could go!!
Donno if that's a good or a bad thing!!! :0

She may go... It depends on wether or not she can get the time off work!!!

How can we have a 25th without 24th?

Jamboree folks have us scheduled for June 22-24 weekend

So is the 22nd-24th the dates then??
