Thanks for posting Will! Unfortunately I won't be able to make it. Gary was a great guy!

What happened to him??

This spring he had open heart surgery. He was recovering fine at his home in Fernley and then had heart failure/complications AFAIK and subsequently died. He was significantly overweight which certainly contributed to his health complications. I spoke to him shortly after he was released from the hospital and was doing fine. So the news of his death was a shock.

Jereme introduced me to him a few years ago when I needed some lathe work done and we became good friends. He was a retired Ford Motor Co. lathe operator. He always had an opinion on anything and everything. And nothing stood between you and him in terms of honest conversation about anything.

He taught me some neat things about machining...

I miss him!

Do you know who did his surgery?
Thanks for the info.

I don't know where he had his surgery Keith.

Gary DiCenzo.

He had to go back to Michigan for surgery, due to his FOMOCO insurance.

I'm sure he forgot more about machine work than I will ever know. Really sucks, I took a liking to the guy the first time I met him.

Dan's post pretty much says it the way it is. Gary was a top notch machinist and quite a character. Pretty sad.
