Wanted hear your opinions on the 2010 GT Zaskar 9r Pro for $2000. I haven't been able to find one at any local bike shops to test ride but one should arrive next week. This would be my first 29er if I go through with it. Anything else to consider in that price range? I'm basically buying it but if I don't like it for whatever reason, the bike shop said they'd take it back. Just want to do a little more due diligence on what else to consider. Thanks.

dont know anything about the new GT's. The peace 9r had pretty good reviews a few years back. Looks like a sweet bike and fairly well equipped. Let us know how it is!

ive got a buddy that rides one of the original zaskar frames... he swears by it.

Your choices are limitless in the 2k 29er hardtail range.

Go and ride a bunch and see which one fits your and your riding style best. If at the end of the day the GT fits you best then it's the one. You like the bike a lot, it's probably the one you see yourself riding when you close your eyes at night. If it fits it would be very hard to pass up. Great value, amazing fork and with the addition of a through axle make it even better, XT is great stuff and has worked flawlessly on my Jamis Dragon 29er.
