Really? I've rented one and didn't feel the same.

yeah, I ride in my brother's and parent's ones all the time...:meh: again, I'm tall, and so is my entire family, so the fronts are always all the way back. That makes most 2nd rows really bad. RAV and Avalon are exceptions, and both better for 2-across comfort, and both better in terms of legroom compared to the 100. Again, not knocking the 100, it never was meant to be tops in all categories. I'm OK with the compromises for full-sized human transport...

Mine is a commuter and ferry for 6 month old. Honestly by the time you add another vehicle for "gas savings" you really need a 3k civic or something like this to actually save $. Im a car nut so that prospect is a no go. Filling up a 100 never feels good and trust me I'm cheap.
Other than being top heavy and questionable during emergency maneuvers I think this is THE BESt family vehicle if you have fewer than 3 kids.

yes, you pay for the best.

Since a LC has a realistic 30 yr service life you really waste much less than if you drove around in something w/ 10 year shelf life (minivan).

There's something to that shelf life. I just bought an 03 LC and had a slight thought about a minivan for the kids and MPG. I drove my neighbors 04 Sienna and honestly, it feels like it's starting to fall apart where the LC is solid.

Family Vehicle....Our only vehicle!

I sold our 2008 Acura MDX for a 98 LC. I always wanted one so after much convincing my wife agreed. We love it!
We only have the LC. I have two boys.
Bad on gas but as I read on a different thread, "You've got to pay to play"
Cheers:meh:

^ I agree.

I waited and got a HF coupon for the steel one for $39.99 (go with the steel, same weight as the aluminum one and much less assembly / fiddly parts to deal with).

I've even used it a few times off-road to get back to our "base-camp" (light off-road stuff).

I third this. I bought a cheap one from Academy ($50 maybe) hoping it would last for a 1200 mile trip. My 165 qt cooler fits on it perfect, holds as much weights as I can put in the cooler. It's a little bent up from tightening straps on it again and again, but still works fine.

I probably would have bought one a little wider it I were using it for anything other than a cooler.
