Morning -

I thought I'd sorted out my rim option for my new rig.... only to realize the offset would be too agressive...

With this truck I'm planning to stay at 2.5" of lift but would like to run an 18x9 rim to accomodate a set of 325/60/18's or perhaps 305/65/18's..... looking for a wider contact patch given this is more Expo and daily then my old 80....

for those who might of gone down this road or test fit what offset seemed to be optimal ?

the build plan is:

  • OEM TB's
  • OME progressive med rears
  • Slee diff drop
  • Nitro UCA's
  • Icon Stage 3's front / stage 2's rear
  • adjustable UCA/LCA's

Appreciate any ideas or insight....

I do have a test FN 18" rim enroute and a 325 and 305 ordered up.... will post up the results of that as well...

Thanks !

Also should add that I'd prefer not to user spacers- debated those with Rock Warriors but .....

Also hope to keep the rim weight under 28lbs.... hopefully under 25 ....

appreciate any ideas or insight.

I decided to try A FN rim - they were kind enough to "borrow" me a sample 18 x 9 Et 12 and ship it out....

I like the idea of the low weight ( 24 lbs) and the open spoke look.....the rims are nicely built and have a very nice BTW - this not the color I'll go with if they fit ( will be gumnmetal )....

the local DT had a 325/60/18 TG2 in stock so ..... off to get jack stands to test fit...

Okay - scratch that idea..... it might work once the lift is on and if I dropped to a 295/65/18.... Lots of clearance on the inside but scrubs on turning and is about 15mm proud past the fender edge....

Looks like 30mm offset might be the optimal for a 9inch wide rim... need to play with the offset calculator.

Interesting, subscribing for updates.

I run a 305/55 20 on a 20x9 with a 50mm offset and a 25mm spacer, effective offset+25mm in front. At stock height they barely rubbed on the outside sidewall at highway speeds causing full compression. The lip on the inside of the fender could be rolled or cut as it looked huge and is bent to a 90 degree angle. My solution was lift it, and now I very rarely get rubbing. Had to trim the fender liner and go to work with a mallet to fix some minor rubbing because of the aggressive offset and tire width.

I spoke with Dustin and am going to do a refit once the suspension is in and try a 295/65/18 or a 305..... got all the parts except the Icons...

The 325's likely would be a bit much and certainly were heavy.... will update likely next week.

Any updates to what you decided on and any pics?

Thnx!

I think he sold the 100 and bought a 200. Don't know if he is on here any longer.

Sold the 100 and bought a Jeep Rubicon.

Has an entire build thread on the 100...Rapido is in the title...just search it.
