G'day Ladies and Gents,

Sorry to start another one of these, but I'd appreciate some input:

I don't need another cruiser but always on the prowl to see what's around.

I've come across a 98 model HZJ75 for sale, with a 1HDFT swap.

A few details:
1HDFT coupled to H55F with a custom Excedy clutch, apparently to get the 300mm disc coupled to the H55, then the stock drivetrain behind it.
Done 380,000 ks
It's roughish condition, been used as a roo-shooting truck so I would say used hard/abused, and gonna need a solid clean and baseline to start with.

My question is, what would this be worth in clean, baselined condition? Trying to work out what it's likely to cost - as much as it would be nice, I doubt I'll keep it forever so the idea is to go into it knowing what it's gonna cost.

Mate in aus cruiser prices are stupid at the moment I wouldn’t be surprised if old mate is asking more than $20000 for it in bad condition

I hear you @chappohj47

To make it clear, I'm not buying this truck to flip, and if I decide to put on a Gturbo red wheel and a big FMIC etc I realise I'm gonna be out of pocket. What I'm trying to work out is, this will be a toy/weekend truck (The Ranger does work duties) - I don't want to be 20k into a truck that's worth 10k in a few years, just getting it baselined without any mods.

Hopefully this makes sense...

I hear @chappohj47 cruiser prices are crazy here at the moment. However, the 1hd ft will always be sought after and is a very nice motor. Rust is a landcruisers biggest enemy and other than the frame having a broken back i would say that 8 - 12k is where its at.

I would buy a nice 75 series and buy a 1HD FT, it would probably be $25000-$27000 plus installation costs. But it would be good. And you could sell the left over 1HZ for $3000
Roo shooting vehicles are like mine vehicles, it all depends on who has been driving them. You might have to do major rebuilds.

You can do the 300mm clutch mod using bits from Isuzu trucks. But you can also use the 275mm 1HZ if you are not going to push it hard.

Why is he selling his ute? Maybe the drought has killed all the roos off.
