Hi guys, I'm saving OT shifts in the bank until I have about $10k(plus $3k from my Pajero) to buy myself a hundie!:grinpimp: It shall be a Lexus because I am a pimpdaddy. Should be sometime spring 2013 when I can buy mine with zero borrrowed money, hurray!
Anyways, this will be a Mall Cruiserfor myself and sometimes the family, so I need VSC and ATRAC, and I  the Woodland Pearl paint. Meaning a 2000 is the only combo of those. Is the infamous self-destructing transmission still a possibility in a truck with >100k mi? Should I shelve the Woodland lust and just consider a 2001/02? The only reason I ask now is so you can all answer over the next several months, lol.
Thanks guys.

There is still a pretty decent jump in price between an 00-01 and an 03 these days. Plus, at least in New England, there are significantly fewer quality used listings for 03.

Color preferences aside, are the transmission issues mentioned above a significant concern for 00-01?

Is the Woodland Pearl another defective color? Thanks for the replies, guys. If one of you guys can find me an '03 on my budget, I'll buy it today. :)

Go 03-05' The 5 speed is well worth it. 06-07' get a little more techie, the vvti power increase is not that noticeable. and some aftermarket stuff wornt quite work. As far as color goes, you know what they say about black......

Ditto (and not only for black but also galactic gray! :D )

Galactic grey is awesome... but I'm afraid it'll be 2014 if I go that new, lol. I'd also like to avoid the nav/climate integration pitfalls..

Yeah, if it were me looking for another 100, I'd avoid the NAV like the plague and I'd most likely look for a newer 5spd auto. I thought NAV would be a must-have option when I was looking....but now I have come to realize the integrated climate controls is the dumbest idea EVER and I hate it. Good luck finding a cruiser w/o NAV though, I hardly ever see one of those.

Also, if you look for a Land Cruiser and not a "Lexus", you'll probably find a slightly better deal.

No but it gets old and shows scratches like dry skin.

Make sure we are talking about Woodland... this color?

For the right price, I'll sell you my 2000 - no transmission issues after 168K miles and still lots to go!

Thanks for the offer! If you still have yours in several months when I'm buying, I will definitely be PMing you. So you don't recommend the Woodland then... Maybe I'll have to broaden my horizons to include Black Onyx and Golden Pearl.:) and look for an '01

The green is ok, but if your going to get a color that show scratches, imo go with black. Otherwise, I would go for white or gold.

I wish they would have had silver in 2000, but oddly they did not.
