hello everyone. after having it sit for about 8 months, the bike just wouldnt start. so we opened up the carb and cleaned it all out, it was covered on old gunky gas. after the cleaning, the bike started, but ran very crappy.
after playing with the screw in the carb, it got running ok, except, it would not run at idle.
2 weeks later, the carb was overflowing, so i took it for a quick spin, and that problem stopped.
the bike would only run with the choke on, and as soon as u shut the choke off, it'd run at very low rpm and die.
playing with the screw again, got the bike running high with the choke on, but once again, as soon as i turned the choke off, the bike would die. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH IT?, the bike its a 2006, and im gonna go nuts if i cant get it running sometime soon.
any suggestions will be apretiated.
p.s. yes, i filled up the tank with new gas.

You are not getting enough fuel if it runs with the choke on. You gotta take that carb apart and clean all the venturi passages. Somewhere it is plugged. I wouldn't try to adjust any settings until you clean it out really good with some carb cleaner, especially if it ran good prior to storage.
What I try to do, if I now that I'm not going to run my bike for more than a few weeks, is shut off the fuel and run the carb dry or at least ad some fuel stabilizer. Good luck, hope you get your bike running right.

Thanx alot, ill give that a shot.

Cut a 3-4 inch peice of stranded wire, then pull a single strand out of it.

Pull the carb. Pull the float bowl. turn the carb upside down. You might have to remove the float.

Run the strand of wire up the idle jet and clean the gunk out. It should go all the way through without resistance.

Pull the slide out of the top of the carb. Pull the needle and clean it well. Run the wire and lots of carb clean up the main jet.

Reassemble and ride.

and don't let it sit with fuel in the carb. Turn the fuel off and run it out, or open the drain at the bottom of the bowl.
