I've seen this before with other sites and I can't remember specifically what's behind it. The period (.) at the end of the URL is key, but I've seen it from gmail too. Always with IE. I think there is a DNS/rewrite rule that can patch the server to fix the IE fxxxup. I'll do some digging.
 
Happened again this morning on two different computers afer rebooting them.

One is via Satalite connection and the other is a wireless card.

Black screen and the bottom says done. It does not redirect.
 
had to be something in how your connection is routed, since I haven't noted any issues on it

did some changes mid-week on the servers, but nothing that would have effected that....and it would have been a BIG issue for lots of folks had it been messed up ;)

(might be shopping soon too...looks like an image server is on the shopping list....)
